Colorado Springs has always been a beautiful destination for all visitors. With its origins as a luxury resort town in the Old West days, modern day Colorado Springs offers a virtually endless array of entertainment, attraction and adventure at any budget.

Parks and Trails

Check out the America the Beautiful Park on the western edge of downtown Colorado Springs. Take a hike up Catamount Trail, a 6 mile round trip hike taking you up to Catamount Reservoir. The Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument gives you access to one of the richest and most diverse fossil deposits in the country. The Garden of the Gods Park contains 15 miles of hiking trails and boasts beautiful scenery and rock formations.

The Intemann Trail offers an easier hike through beautiful landscapes, while the Manitou Incline offers a challenging 2,000 feet elevation gain over about one mile. The Incline intersects with Barr Trail, which also leads you to the summit of Pikes Peak. This rigorous, 12+ mile hike leads you to the Pikes Peak Summit and provides an ample challenge for adventurous hikers. There is also overnight camping available.

Attractions

Grab a bite to eat at the Airplane Restaurant, featuring an actual fully in tact Boeing KC 97 tanker. Take a hot air balloon ride, mountain 4×4 tour, Segway tour, or guided hike with one of many vacation adventure companies.

Check out the historic Broadmoor hotel, with full-service spa, golf, tennis and many other on-site recreational activities. Take a tour with the Cave of Winds and enjoy the amazing splendor and beauty of the caves. Make a trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to see America’s only mountain zoo. Hop a jeep tour with one of the many companies in town to explore the beautiful Rockies. Stop by the flea market and enjoy buying bartering, and bargaining.

A visit to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center will give you access to world-class galleries and Broadway-caliber shows. A short trip out of town will take you to the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, where you can meet the resident animals. Learn about the history of the area at Cripple Creek Heritage Center, or discover ancient history with the Dinosaur Resource Center. Check out the Ghost Town Museum for a taste of the Old West, and visit the Manitou Cliff Dwellings to explore the Native American history of the area.

In a holiday mood? A visit to North Pole and Santa’s Workshop theme park will fill your holiday heart. You should also stop by the Olympic Training Center and US Air Force Academy. Finally, enjoy a glass of wine at the Winery at Pikes Peak.
